A particularly compact and lightweight single use heat and moisture exchanger (HME) device for tracheostomy. Allows the combination of high humidification efficiency with long term effectiveness. Improvements include: a small collection chamber intowhich sputum deposits without compromising functionality; a central ports through which suctioning and sampling may be performed without removing the device; and HME element is made of cellulose. Oxygen port is a position to allow heating and humidificatiication of all inspired gases. |
